2008: The Year of Promise

This year, our church is involved in a church-wide "Covenant to God." The whole idea is to become more prayerful in all that you do. There are three main points to this covenant that our congregation is enforcing in their lives:

Getting current church attendees to invite at least one or more unchurched persons to our church worship services/fellowships. If everyone invited one person to this church, we will double our attendance, but it’s not about numbers though, it’s about getting the lost people in church to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and to begin making more Disciples! It all involves being prayerful, which leads into the next point.

Become a more prayerful congregation; for our church, church family, community, city/state/country. Prayer has had a huge impact in the lives of church members, so we are challenging our church people to become even more prayerful in his or her everyday life!

Inviting current church attendees to get involved in at least one active ministry of this church, whether it be the choir, United Methodist Women, United Methodist Men, Children, Youth, Adult Ministries, or Bible Study, and Sunday School classes.

It is our hope, that as a church family, we will make 2008, our 99th year of ministry in August truly, ''The Year of Promise!'' Together, as a church family, we can begin making new things happen! To get new things going, we must have the support from our congregation support through prayer and making a promise to God and to your church! On Sunday, February 10th, a ''Covenant to God'' was handed out to everyone present, everyone was given instructions to begin praying and to place the covenant somewhere in daily sight to remind him or her to be working for God and His church!

Our “Promise Sunday” will be on Easter Sunday, March 23rd! Our congregation requests that you pray for us as we are challenged with this ''Covenant to God'' this year! With our prayers, and your prayers this program can be successful!
